In the recent case of Asiimwe v Secretary of State for the Home Department [2016] CSIH 38, the Inner House held that a previous version of the domestic violence concession in the Immigration Rules was discriminatory in terms of Article 8 and 14 of the ECHR. Stephen Winter of Terra Firma Chambers acted for the Equality and Human Rights Commission in the intervention application and also in drafting the written submissions setting out the Commission's position.
