Biography:

Colin is a very experienced practitioner in Civil Law and has appeared before the Court of Session; Sheriff Courts; Employment Tribunals; the Land Court and Lands Tribunal, and the VAT and Duties Tribunal.  Colin’s particular areas of expertise include Employment Law, Property Law, Personal Injury and Health and Safety, Contract, Partnership Law and Wills and Succession.  He has a particular interest in Maritime Law and has extensive experience related to shipping and offshore installations.

As regards Employment Law, Colin has particular experience in litigation concerning unfair dismissal, particularly cases involving redundancy selection, discrimination (sex, race disability) and industrial disputes.  He was recently involved in major discrimination litigation over equal pay on an offshore installation.

Colin also has recent experience in criminal trials and is a member of Gray’s Inn having called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1977.
