Steven Walker of Terra Firma Chambers and Iain K Clark, Solicitor Advocate & Partner, Young & Partners, have co-authored a new book PLEADING IN ARBITRATION: A PRACTITIONER'S GUIDE. Published by W Green/Thomson Reuters, it is described as "an essential title designed to provide both new and experienced arbitration practitioners … with a practical step-by-step guide outlining the various procedural stages, from start to finish, of an arbitration."
Both Steven and Iain are experts practising in the field of domestic and international arbitration, and are frequently instructed in disputes in the oil & gas, renewables, construction, engineering and property sectors; and in commercial disputes generally.
From the Foreword by Lord Dervaird:
“… If ever a book is to be described as required reading for the practitioner, it is this book. The authors are to be congratulated upon producing a book which so clearly sets out how an arbitration should be carried through its various stages.” As Accredited Commercial Arbitrators; Honorary Lecturers and Course Directors on International Arbitration and Mediation issues; and members of the Global Academic Faculty at the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral law Practice (“CEPMLP”) at the University of Dundee, they regularly teach on these subjects in the UK and worldwide.
Speaking before the launch of their new book, Steven and Iain said:
“We want to encourage a new interest in arbitration from practitioners – and also from businesses – who might never before have considered arbitration as appropriate to the resolution of their disputes.”
