In this article, Neil Beynon considers two matters. The first of these is the Judgement of the United Kingdom Supreme Court in Herculito Maritime Ltd and Others (Respondents) v Gunvor International BC & Others (Appellants) [2024] UKSC 2. It will be suggested that the decision has very useful guidance in contractual matters beyond the specifics of maritime law. The second will address potential remedies for countries whose maritime vessels have been attacked in the Red Sea adjacent to Yemen by the Houthi organisation or movement over the last few months.
