Planning

Terra Firma Chambers planning practice features leading practitioners in this field, and its members are frequently instructed to appear at public local inquiries into emerging development plans or appeals to the Scottish Ministers against refusal of planning permission. A number of our members also appear regularly in judicial reviews and statutory appeals before the Court of Session. Members represent a wide range of client interests - from developers to planning authorities or objectors - and act in relation to a wide variety of developments, including proposals for supermarkets, housing, roads, wind farms, and other energy developments. Our members are happy to advise and take instructions directly from planning consultants, surveyors and other professionals with rights of direct access. Members of Chambers regularly speak at conferences and write on planning related issues. One of our members (Robert Sutherland) is a contributor to the Scottish Planning Factbook.
